Todra’s Hidden Vertical World

Todra Gorge is world-famous among rock climbers — the south-facing walls offer some of the best sport climbing in Africa, with routes ranging from beginner 4b to expert 7c+. But few visitors know about the canyoning possibilities in the side gorges above the main canyon, where seasonal waterfalls have carved hidden chambers in the rock and the descents require rope, nerve, and a guide who knows every move.

Our full-day adventure combines both disciplines: a morning of canyoning in the upper gorge system (rappelling, traversing, swimming through pools) followed by an afternoon introduction to rock climbing on the accessible lower walls, with certified gear and instruction throughout.

No experience is necessary for the introductory climbing section. For the canyoning, basic swimming ability is required and a basic level of physical fitness. Our certified guides assess conditions before every departure and adjust the route to match the group’s ability.
