It gained its name because Prince Charles trekked here. This is an easy and a short trek that offers good mountain views, ridge walking, forests, rice fields and different cast villages. If you are doing this trek in the summer the river may be difficult to cross due to flood. After crossing the river the trail ascends to Kalikastan, a walk on the ridges of the mountain with spectacular views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal, through the Gurung village, rhododendron and sal forest.

Rara Lake

Rara Lake lies in the remote far northwest of Nepal. Surrounded by verdant alpine meadows and steep densely forested ridges abundant with wildlife. The lake is stunningly beautiful, with unbelievably tranquility, a paradise untouched. The region around Jumla and Rara Lake is still relatively unexplored.

The area gives a taste of natural wilderness and silence. Our trek starts from Jumla, the largest upland hill town in the west Nepal. Climbing gradually through forests of mixed oak, conifer, pine, broad-leafed chestnut, white birch and rhododendron.

Poon Hill

 

Poon Hill is located just 400m. above Ghorepani and offer a brilliant 360 degree view of the Himalayan massifs including Dhulagiri range and Annapurna range. The most incredible things is, from this hill you are able to see more than 30 different white mountain peaks, including two eight thousand mountain (Dhaulagiri; 8163m. Annapurna I; 8091m.). On clear days, even the Pokhara valley can be seen. Short, easily accessible and a fairly accessible and a fairly easy trek, the Ghorepani trail is a perfect starter for someone who isn't sure of his walking capabilities, or only has a few days available and wishes to discover a lot.

Mustang lo mathang

Lying beyond the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif in central Nepal is the hidden Kingdom of Mustang, an intriguing parched region, forming part of the Tibetan plateau. Untouched by the outside world, 16th century monasteries remain active, adorned with unrivalled frescoes, thankas and status of gigantic deities, preserving ancient traditions. Mustang is the land of Barley field's pastures for grazing herds. These upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki river which has tantalized a generation of trekkers - have recently been opened in 1992. Mustang being a restricted area, there are certain formalities required by the government of Nepal in obtaining a special permit.
