Medical Health & Education Program

Many Nepali people are unaware of issues. Therefore this program mobilizes volunteers mainly to work with the youth clubs, women's groups and other local organizations to teach them about proper health and sanitation habits. In addition, volunteers will provide First-Aid information to the local people in rural villages, thereby providing them with a practical and sustainable health and sanitation skills. As well as volunteers can conduct health education class in government schools that may last from a week to several days.

We prefer medical students or doctors for this program; however, we do accept other volunteers who have some experience in the area. Often health volunteers will work closely with the orphanages, in doing health checks, creating medical records, teaching the children about health and sanitation as a disease prevention method, and administering inoculations. Basic health education and first aid training can provide real benefits to local communities. As a volunteer you can teach youth clubs and/or women's groups in the community about Health and Sanitation. You can also deliver first aid knowledge to the local villages and assist in developing and delivering First Aid and General Health Programs. Please note that for this program we prefer medical students or advanced degree holders, but volunteers with some experience in this area can also be placed. Please note that the Health Program has various roles volunteers can play depending upon their medical qualifications.

This program needs at lease 6 weeks minimum duration. Due to the nature of the medical qualifications required for these placements, all placements are effectively tailor-made for each volunteer depending on their qualifications and experience. Volunteer’s full resume will be required in order to access your suitability to the role and this will need to be submitted along with your application to the health education program.
